Accessibility Statement

Updated: December 1, 2025

Our Commitment

Hutney & Associates is committed to ensuring digital accessibility for people with disabilities. We continually improve the user experience for everyone and apply relevant accessibility standards to ensure equal access for all users.

Accessibility Standards

We aim to conform to the Web Content Accessibility Guidelines (WCAG) 2.1, Level AA. These guidelines explain how to make web content more accessible for people with disabilities and more user-friendly for everyone.

The guidelines define three levels of conformance: Level A (minimum), Level AA (target for most organizations), and Level AAA (enhanced). We have chosen Level AA as our target because it addresses the most common barriers for users with disabilities while remaining achievable for a small business website.

Measures We Have Taken

To improve accessibility on our website, we have taken the following measures:

Text alternatives: We provide alternative text for images so that screen reader users can understand the content and purpose of visual elements.

Color contrast: We use color combinations that provide sufficient contrast between text and background colors to ensure readability for users with low vision or color blindness.

Keyboard navigation: Our website can be navigated solely with the keyboard, without a mouse, to accommodate users with motor disabilities.

Logical structure: We use proper heading hierarchy and semantic HTML to help screen reader users understand the organization of our content.

Readable fonts: We use legible fonts and appropriate text sizing that can be enlarged using browser controls without breaking the layout.

Descriptive links: We write link text that describes the destination or purpose, avoiding generic phrases like "click here."

Third-Party Content

Our website includes embedded content and tools from third parties, such as Calendly (for scheduling) and social media platforms. While we select third-party services that have made accessibility commitments, we cannot guarantee full accessibility of content outside our direct control. If you have difficulty using any third-party feature on our website, please contact us directly and we will work with you to find an alternative way to access the information or service.

Known Limitations

Despite our efforts to ensure accessibility, some content may not yet be fully accessible. Known limitations include:

Third-party embeds: Embedded scheduling widgets and social media feeds operate independently and may have their own accessibility limitations.
